E. Example of Explanation Text
Rainbow
Rainbows are a meteorological phenomenon caused by the reflection, refraction and scattering of light in water droplets which results in a spectrum of light appearing in the sky. The shape is a colorful bow. Rainbows caused by sunlight always appear in the part of the sky directly facing the sun.
The rainbow can become a full circle; However, the average observer sees only an arc formed by the light droplets above the ground, and centered on a line from the sun to the observer's eye.
In the primary rainbow, the bow shows red on the outside and purple on the inside. This rainbow is caused by light being refracted when entering a water droplet, then reflected inward on the back of the droplet and refracted as it exits.
In a double rainbow, the second arc is visible outside the primary arc, and the order of the colors is reversed, with red on the inside of the arc.
