cause and effect

 Assalamualaikum WR.WB

Hello I am Sarah, here I will deliver material about cause and effect. let's take a look at the material.

A | DEFINITION
Cause and effect text is a type of paragraph that contains the author's analysis of cause and effect. This paragraph begins with the causes which are outlined at the beginning of the sentence and is then drawn to a general conclusion which is the result of the described causes.

This cause and effect paragraph model is often used in writing essays and text explanations. This is because this model is considered to have a clear and structured flow of ideas, so that readers can easily understand it when reading it.

B | STRUCTURE
The cause and effect paragraph has the following structure:
a | Have a main idea on the topic of sentences that will be covered in the whole paragraph.
b | Have supporting details or supporting sentences in the form of causes.
c | End with a concluding sentence or a conclusion in the form of a result.

cause and effect. Namely, types of compound sentences that have causes and can lead to effects. Cause means something that happens, while effect is the result or result of the incident.

Typically, these sentences are characterized by a marker word or phrase called a connector. Because it is often used in conjunction with a degree of comparison sentence,

Cause and effect is divided into two, namely those that are followed by nouns, verbs or clauses. To master it, you need to first compare the cause and effect sentences.

Cause and effect + Noun

Formula 1:
Connector + Cause, + Effect

Connector:
due to, owing to, because of, as a result of, as a consequence of

Example:

Due to the storm we cannot go to the beach.

(connector) + (cause) + (effect)

Another example:

Owing to her kindness, Mia gave her a gift. (Because of his kindness, Mia gave him a gift.)
Because of this cooking book, I am able to cook my own meal. (Because of this cookbook, I can cook my own food.)

Formula 2:
Effect + Connector + Cause

I got sick due to the cold weather.

(effect) + (connector) + (cause)

Another example:

The car was broken as a result of her recklessness. (His car was damaged by his carelessness.)
Alvin got a warning as a consequence of his laziness. (Alvin got a warning for his laziness.)
She was late because of her bad sleeping habit. (She was late because of her bad sleep schedule.)

Cause and effect + Verb or Clause

Connectors: because, because, for, then, therefore, thus, as a result

Example:

Since her sister lives in Jakarta, she has to visit him every month. (Since her older brother lives in Jakarta, she has to visit him every month.)

This bag is expensive because the famous brand Chanel made it. (This bag is really expensive due to the release of a well-known brand called Chanel.)

My arm hurts. Hence, I can't swim today. (My arm hurts. So, I can't swim today.)

As our teacher advised us to stay home, he gave us a pile of homework. (Since our teacher had advised us to stay home, he gave us homework.)

He's invited to the party because he's one of the funniest people in school. (He was invited to the party because he was one of the most humorous people in school.)

As a result, those who were not yet 17 years old could not attend international seminars. (They weren't 17 yet, so they couldn't join the international seminar.)

REMEMBER!

| BECAUSE

Because / because is a word preposition or a two-word conjunction, it is used before a noun or pronoun. Because of the meaning with reason, which is then followed by an object in the form of a noun or phrase, pronoun, or verb.

Formula

because of/due to + noun (phrase) / pronoun / verb-ing

Untuk memperjelas, mari kita lihat contoh kalimat dengan kata because of dibawah ini:

a| Because of/Due to + noun phrase
We were bored because of the speech. – Kami merasa bosan karena pidatonya.
John was worried because of the rain. – John merasa khawatir karena hujan.

b| Because of/Due to + pronoun

|BECAUSE
Because merupakan subordinate conjunction atau adalah sebuah kata penghubung, yang digunakan pada awal clause atau klausa, sebelum subjek dan kata kerja. Untuk aturan menggunakan because+clause harus diikuti atau di lengkapi dengan adanya main clause karena kata tersebut (because + clause) tidak dapat berdiri sendiri.

Formula
Because/Due to the fact that + Subject + Verb / clause + main clause | main clause + because + clause / subject + verb

Untuk lebih mengerti, mari kita lihat contoh kalimat dengan kata because dibawah ini:

We were bored because the speech is too long. – Kami merasa bosan karena pidatonya terlalu panjang.

this is my video with my friend naurah

naurah : hai sarah

sarah : Hey, what’s up?

naurah : I’m upset reading all the news about deforestation caused by illegal logging.

sarah : Yes, it also saddens me seeing that. I think the government should take illegal logging seriously.

naurah : Agree! Our law enforcement on illegal logging is so weak so anyone can just chop down trees reely.
