conditional if type 1

 Assalamualaikum WR. WB

hello friends and all of you who read, here I will provide material about conditional if one follow it, i hope you like it. 👣

A.  Conditional sentence types 1
A type 1 conditional sentence or first conditional is a conditional sentence that is used if the result / consequence of the condition is likely to materialize in the future because the conditions are realistic to fulfill. The condition is in the subordinate clause with the subordinate "if" conjunction, while result / consequence is in the main clause.

The first conditional sentence is the conditional sentence form used when the result or effect is likely to occur in the future. This can occur because there are realistic and reasonable conditions for the possibility to occur. Therefore, the sentence form in this first type of conditional sentence is in the form of a simple future sentence, aka the sentence that will come. The formula for this sentence is: if + simple present, simple future "will" / imperative and examples are:

- If I meet him, I will introduce myself.
- I will cook dinner if you clean the house.
- If you rest, you will feel better.
- If you set your mind on a goal, you will eventually achieve it.
- If it rains, I'll stay home.
- If she gives him chocolate, he will be happy.
- If it's not raining, we'll go to the library.

B.  Formulas for Conditional Sentence Types 1
The conditional clause (if + condition) uses the simple present tense, while the main clause (result) uses the simple future tense "will" or imperative (bare infinitive or infinitive without to).

complex sentence

if + simple present
  • simple future (will + bare infinitive)
  • imperative (bare infinitive)
the if clause can be at the beginning or in the middle of a sentence. If the if clause occurs at the beginning of the sentence, the comma is placed before the main clause. If… cannot be replaced with except.
